The Distress Centre strives to be a great place to work. We offer
an array of benefits to all permanent staff, including:
- Lieu Time � There is no paid overtime at the Distress Centre. However, staff has
the option of taking the equivalent amount of time off to compensate for their overtime.
- Professional Development - The Distress Centre is committed to the professional
development of its staff. A grid has been developed that aids supervisors in making decision
around the compensation of time off and financial assistant to help employees take advantage
of professional development opportunities.
- Benefit package - The Distress Centre offers its employees a group insurance plan
which provides life insurance, long-term disability, extended health and dental coverage.
Professional Liability Insurance is provided for all professional staff. There is also the
option of participating in a RRSP matched contribution plan.
- Vacation policy - The Distress Centre has a very generous paid vacation package. All
staff receives 3 weeks of vacation time off within their first year of employment. In the second
year the vacation time off increases to 4 weeks.
Other informal benefits include staff parties and retreats.
