The Distress Centre offers all services free of charge to the public.

If you are looking for a way to make a difference in your community, the Distress Centre offers several excellent opportunities. You can volunteer in many capacities, attend or sponsor a fundraising event, or make a personal donation to the agency.

Volunteering

Our volunteers are the heart of the organization and have been for 35 years. Every year, over 250 volunteers contribute over 26,000 hours managing the crisis lines, delivering public education presentations, organizing fundraising events and providing governance on our Board of Directors.

Special Events

August 11-12th 2007, The Distress Centre held the 2nd annual Rocky Road Ride, a mystery motorcycle ride and party. Through the support of our participants and sponsors, this event was a huge success and helped raise funds to support our crisis lines, professional counselling program and keep our services available without charge to all who need them. Thank you to everyone involved. Next year's ride will take place August 16-17th, 2008. Please contact Barb Litchinsky, Executive Director at (403)266-1601 if you are interested in sponsoring a future event.
