The Distress Centre strives to be a great place to work. We currently have approximately 30 full time and 15 part time employees.

The Distress Centre values a diverse workplace. As part of our hiring practices we encourage those with a second language capability, in addition to required skills, to apply for positions within the organization. The Centre strives to make the facility accessible for everyone and is committed to continued improvements.

All staff of the Distress Centre are entitled to an environment free from harassment and discrimination. The Centre has zero tolerance for any behaviour that is determined to be discrimination based on Human Rights Legislation. In addition, behaviour that is deemed to be workplace harassment is not tolerated.

The Distress Centre provides clear guidelines and procedures to help employees respond to behaviour that is discriminatory or harassing. Policy and Procedure Manual contain relevant material, as well; the Centre provides a regular scheduled seminar on the subject of workplace harassment and discrimination that is mandatory for all staff to attend.
