Distress Centre Calgary always welcomes new faces to our team of
volunteers.
In 2009, over 312 people donated over 33,000 hours of their time and talents. New
volunteers are joining our team every month. Read the information below to see

Line Volunteers |
Answer calls on our 24 hour crisis lines. Provide
support, crisis intervention, information and referrals to callers. |
4 shifts per month,
4 hours each,

| Youth Program
Volunteers |
From 5pm-10pm each day the Youth Program volunteers manage
calls on Teen Line and provide crisis intervention, support, information
and referrals to youth callers and their families. Youth Program volunteers also respond to online
posts through Teen Line Vibe, a peer support forum powered by Calgary Urban Vibe. |

| Fundraising
Volunteer |
Work on planning, sponsorships, marketing and
execution of fundraising events. Past events include golf tournaments and the Rocky Road Ride, a mystery motorcycle ride fundraiser. |
1 meeting per month
for 6-12 months of planning, plus specific tasks as you choose to take on |

Provide governance, strategy and policy guidance to Distress
Centre Calgary. Specific expertise such as legal, accounting and fundraising may be
desirable.
