Caller Survey

The Distress Centre provides crisis intervention and information & referral services through four core programs:

Crisis lines

We offer a main crisis and addictions line as well as four specialty phone lines providing crisis intervention and information and referral services 24/7, 365 days a year.

211

Our newest telephone line is the three digit 211 number which provides information and referral to community and social services.

Professional counselling

The no fee crisis counselling program is delivered by registered social workers. Counselling sessions occur on-site at the Distress Centre and are short-term in nature with the goal of stabilizing the situation.

Public education

The public education program provides informative and preventative sessions. Most of these presentations are given in high schools to equip teens with the tools to make healthy choices.

All Distress Centre services are free of charge to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted.
