Jerilyn Dressler

Jerilyn Dressler began her work with Distress Centre as a crisis line volunteer from 2001-2003, before completing her Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Saskatchewan in 2007. Upon returning to Calgary she rejoined the Distress Centre team, providing professional support for crisis line volunteers. Jerilyn joined Distress Centre’s leadership team in 2008 and has held several different positions at the leadership level. She later began the Masters of Social Work program at the University of Calgary. In 2015, Jerilyn completed her Masters of Social Work with a specialization in Leadership in the Human Services. Jerilyn subsequently published the work she completed during her MSW practicum at the Calgary Homeless Foundation, in a publication entitled Exploring Effective Systems Responses to Homelessness.

At the national level, Jerilyn sits on the InformCanada board and the Executive Committee of the Canadian Distress Line Network, which provide leadership and guidance in the fields of information and referral and crisis support, respectively. Jerilyn was appointed Executive Director on June 1, 2017. Jerilyn is an authentic, collaborative, and transformative leader who brings her passion and vision to every team and project she is a part of.
