Many of you may already know Lee Horbachewski, aka SimpLee Serene. Lee is a speaker, coach, author and advocate for mental illness awareness. She bravely shares her own experiences with depression and anxiety and how a call to the Distress Centre helped save her life.

Through her tireless efforts, Lee inspires others to find hope and to know that they are not alone. She has recently written a book on her experiences, A Quiet Strong Voice, available through her website at www.simpleeserene.com.

Lee is also the founder and organizer of the Going Blue 4 U (GB4U) campaign which aims to put a colourful spin on mental illness awareness and raise funds for 24 hour crisis lines. Last year’s campaign raised $11,077.50 for crisis support and mental health organizations across Canada.

Distress Centre is honoured to be one of the recipient organizations of the Going Blue 4 U campaign, and we are proud to help Lee raise awareness and help reduce the stigma for the over 6 million Canadians affected by mental illness.

This year Going Blue 4 u needs your help in raising $25, 000 by August 15 in order to kick-off the October campaign. If this goal is reached, Lee will dye her ENTIRE hair blue!
