Publish Date: Monday, October 05, 2015

Our 5th annual Lend An Ear Breakfast took place on September 23 and we couldn’t be more thankful for all the support we received!

Angela Kokott, host of Calgary Today on News Talk 770, co-emceed the event with Gord Gillies, anchor for Global News Calgary’s News Hour. This was Angela’s 5th time emceeing for us, and Gord’s first.

Singer, actor and activist, Tom Jackson, took the stage next and praised those who put others before themselves, such as the staff and volunteers at Distress Centre.

“It takes courage to work in this field,” he said. “It takes courage to follow that direction.”

After, he performed several songs on guitar and posed for photos - check them out on our Facebook.

We would like to thank the event sponsors who make our breakfast possible: Viewpoint Group, Altitude Communications, Stepper Custom Homes, GLJ Petroleum Consultants, Servus Credit Union, Competitive Insurance Strategies and Catherine Bell & Kent Brown of The Awakened Company.

We are grateful to our community partners: News Talk 770, Global News Calgary, Gilmour Photography, WestJet, Rouge Restaurant, Joeys Restaurants, Brave Communications, The Metropolitan Conference Centre and Starbucks Canada.
