“You are the only person I have ever told about what is going on in my life – how much it sucks, and how I just wanted to end it all. I now feel much better. Thank you.”
– Young Caller @ 2:30am
We know that times continue to be really tough for our community. In 2018, our highly trained volunteers and staff responded to 141,000 contacts – a 14% increase from 2017.
Since June 2018, we have been receiving over 10,000 calls per month and thousands of chats and texts. This is putting tremendous pressure on our volunteers and staff in the contact centre.
There are many ways you can give to Distress Centre. You can become a volunteer, donate money, donate your bottles and cans through SkipTheDepot, or you can donate to Aeroplan. In 2016 the social return on investment for Distress Centre was $7.42 for every $1 donated.
